SYRACUSE, NEW YORK, March 23,2018 - The GENIUS Olympiad is excited to announce the opening of the 2018 application for the eighth annual international science fair. With categories including Visual and Performing Arts, Business, Robotics, Science, and Writing, this competition allows for students in grades eight through 12, or the international equivalent, who are at least 12 years of age to show their creativity and ingenuity.

"We are so excited to welcome another group of excellent young minds from all across the world, and see what these inspiring students can teach us," remarked GENIUS Founder and Director Dr. Fehmi Damkaci. The program's

mission focuses on promoting "a global understanding of environmental issues and the achievement of sustainability." Last year's Olympiad saw 1,409 projects submitted from 73 countries and 40 US states. Testimonials from students reflected the notion that the event was not only educational and fun, but a truly multicultural exchange.

The program is an excellent opportunity for passionate young GENIUSes to come together in a celebration of innovation in the name of environmental sustainability. Students are encouraged to learn from each other, develop their academic passions and aspirations, and grow from the international exchange that the program offers.

The application can be found on the GENIUS Olympiad website, as well as the rules for eligibility and an instructional video on the application portal. The project application deadline for the 2018 event is March 1, with Finalists to be announced March 27. A full annual schedule can be found on the organization's website.
